the furthest I’ve ever run. It took 59 minutes but I wasn’t wiped at the end and had some energy left. I’m genuinely excited about reaching 10km now. However, I’m only just going into week 5 so still a way to go. Did others feel like this after week 4 of Ju Ju’s plan? Are there any ‘hazards’ ahead I should be aware of?
Any thoughts, tips etc always much appreciated.

Congratulations! That’s a really super run. You’re nearly there. It sounds like you’re at the point where if you decided to (I’m not suggesting you do this), you could go out and run 10k tomorrow. That run should give you loads of confidence that you’re nearly there.
Hazards? Injuries are the main one when you’re increasing your distance or run volume. Following magic plan means you’re increasing at a sensible rate. Strength and flex work is really important too for reducing your injury risk.
Are you taking water with you? For runs over an hour, it’s usually recommended. With the weather getting hotter, it’s worth starting experimenting with this if you’re not already,
Seriously, well done. You’re in a really great position to get to 10k. It’s never to early to celebrate how far you’ve come, or to start thinking about what you’ll do when you cross the 10k line!
thank you. I am tempted to speed up the process but I won’t because I don’t want to injure myself. I think I will start the strength and flex plan I’ve seen others have mentioned here.
Well I didn’t use the lovely Juju’s plan but I can tell you that after I ran my first 8k (and I’m going back a bit here!) my next long run, a week later was a 10k! You’ve got this, I promise…and that first 10k feels even better than the 8! Good luck,👍💪🙂
Well done to you. I did the magic plan too and found it easier than c25k. The only hazard I found was at the end of my 9k I got carried away and tripped on a stump in the trail path. I cut my elbow and ended up at the minor injuries unit. That delayed the 10k for a few weeks!
Most of us at the time skipped the 2nd 9k run and carried on to 10k. 😂
your post made me smile. Obviously it’s awful you hurt yourself, but it’s such the kind of thing I could end up doing. I will stay calm and focused to the end!
