Channelling CBDB 's post the other day I didn't get round to brushing my distinctly grubby hair before I went for my run yesterday.
The previous evening I'd announced that we were going to do 6km this morning. Seeing all the rain covered pavements and roofs I changed my mind.
As we neared the boggy start of the path a lady was walking towards us with her dog. I asked how muddy it was further in. 'Not bad if you keep to the sides.' OK.
Well, I don't know where she found the OK bits because I struggled. Every few yards I'd need to skip from one side to the other, or slow down to avoid deep mud. It was impossible to get any sort of rhythm.
Thankfully, the middle part of the run was on the concrete road which just felt like a holiday, then back to the puddles.
I did just over 3km but reckon that with all the skipping from one side of the path to the other I probably covered 6 km. Plus, slowing down to avoid slipping counts as jeffing. Plus speeding up and slowing down for the conditions is almost a fartlek, though not as much fun. Another positive, it kept my heart rate down to reasonable levels.
So all in all, not the best run ever but definitely glad I made the effort (and I don't think my hair made the slightest bit of difference!)

No I don't think the state of hair makes any difference, mind you I once pulled mine through the back of a cap, got too hot, took cap off and then struggled to keep it out of my face, it's half way down my back so does need to be tied out the way. That's a very interesting run, a bit of a struggle in places but well worth going
I kind of envy bald guys when I'm running. My hair is quite well behaved in general but put me anywhere windy and it's everywhere. It's chin length so not quite long enough to tie back. The Shokz help a bit, as does a hat, but the combination of hat, Shokz and glasses isn't to be recommended.
Bit like mask visor and glasses I guess, lots behind the ears, every so often I'm tempted to cut the lot off but Willow looks a bit sad and I feel a bit sad and it continues to grow, chin length looks so good in a still day 😄 but I see the dilemma. Willow has a sort of long high point tail that he ties in a knot, I've tried that but it just doesn't work
The eternal struggle between the other half liking long hair and the annoyance factor of being the one to deal with it. It's not so bad when you can tie it up out of the way. I looked in the mirror yesterday and wondered whether to get it all chopped off before we set off sailing (pluses: it won't go in my eyes, less time to dry, minuses: cold neck in the breeze, comments from husband if it's 'too short', what if it's one of those styles that needs to be blow dried? not an option on a boat) or leave it to grow (pluses: it's almost tie-back length, doesn't need to be blow dried to look passable, happy husband, warm neck, minuses: have to tie it back all the time)
Not picky at all, over the last ten years I've grown my fringe out, then last year I cut it back, it didn't work so I'm growing it out again, I hate online meetings at work because my hairs tied up and my forehead looks huge, and shiny, so I get it completely,
I've got long curly hair, in the cooler months I use a ponytail beanie hat, and in the summer I use a buff as a headband with a ponytail, confession... I have never brushed my hair before a run. In fact it's better without attention. Those with curly hair will understand 😍
