With all the travel and new places we are seeing we haven't done much running but today we made the effort. And what an effort it felt.
Although I'd been awake a while I'd been reading the paper etc on the phone so when my husband woke up it was all 'faster, faster, the day has half gone already!' No time for a coffee apparently.
We are currently moored in a marina sited in a disused gravel pit. It's idyllic, birdsong, trees, peace and quiet. Unfortunately it seems to be surrounded by working pits as the forest is mostly fenced off. We set off and found a road which quickly became a path with fields and horses on one side and a very serene lake on the other. Beautiful.
I was slow, my legs felt like lead probably due to lack of hydration (and caffeine) but the scenery made up for it. I did 4km then it was back to the boat to finally have that coffee, and an egg for breakfast. But only one egg - because as we all know, one egg is un oeuf
