I had planned to go running this morning, but ate a load of rubbish yesterday, had a late night, was up with a sick kiddo for hours overnight, had world book day meltdowns to manage in the morning and was generally bad tempered all round.
I decided to just to a short run to make sure I didn’t shirk but once I got started I felt so much better I just kept going. My last longer run was 7k and I did my first park run last weekend at a faster pace that I ever run (thanks to a fitter friend) - today I managed 7.5k at a pace a not far off my park run pace.
There was every reason for that run to be horrible and it ended up being great and probably turned my whole day around 😊

That’s brilliant! It’s amazing how many times that happens-your best runs come from starting when you’re not really up for it. Well done! That tactic of aiming for a short run and keeping going if you feel like it is such a good one.
Much as I love books, I’m glad world book day doesn’t come around more often than it does…
Those runs are the best aren't they? You go out feeling a bit defeated by life and by the time you get back you are smiling again, well done for getting out
