Well my last run was a 2k treadmill run on Friday

healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

I was going to have the weekend off and run again on Monday but the weather is so good I couldn't let it pass .

So a later than usual start due to having eaten, although it was only porridge!

I went out around 11:40.

Perfect for light shorts and light t shirt .

Took a slightly different section of my usual 5k route today which I often use for 2.5 or 3k runs.

I'm taking these runs really nice and slow .

My main aim has been to increase my run frequency although it will probably now be another 3 or 4 days until I can get out again unfortunately 😐

My last few runs have all been just 2k, initially with walk breaks on the 2nd k

Then the last couple were 2k without the walks .

Today I just wanted to add another 0.5k

So after I reached 2k, I had a 1 minute walk and then the last bit as a slow run .

It certainly feels as though it's working and I shall continue to take my time .

I may switch to time based runs now rather than distance.

Infact I'm not sure but I may do the C25k week 6 runs 1 and 2 next .

Happy running 😊

Glad that you are enjoying your short runs Ian, I am not sure if you should go straight to week 6, perhaps the runs of week 4 or the slightly shorter runs of week 5, runs 1 and 2, but if you feel you can do week 6, runs 1 and 2 that's great, good luck. πŸ‘

Yes Al, More than happy to do the week 6 😊

Week 6 run 1 is the same total running time I have been doing for the last few runs so will not be an issue 😊

Great run! I can see why you were tempted out-that sky is hard to resist.

I’ve been really converted to time based runs recently. It’s so nice to know you’re out for 20 minutes (or whatever) and then back again. You can route plan more easily. You know you’ll get through your whole podcast and won’t have to stop and start another one. Most of all, I’ve found it much better for keeping an β€œeasy run” mindset and enjoy just being out for a chilled out run

Enjoy the c25k reboot! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

It really is glorious out today, I don’t blame you for sneaking in a run! It definitely sounds as though you’re making strides, especially with the added 0.5k, it’s so good to hear. 😁😁😁

Thanks Kate !Yes, so nice today πŸ™‚

What is good is the fact I'm wanting to go out and run again as I had previously felt that slipping away with my time off

I know what you mean, Iβ€˜ve had that a little bit. But a good run in lovely weather makes all the difference!

I don’t blame you getting out on a lovely day, this all sounds good and isn’t it great that we still use the ct5k programme at times when we are getting our fitness back? ☺️

It was a lovely day!And yes, c25k is just the perfect tool for the job ,

After my last few runs it became clear where it fitted in with C25k 😊

I used week 4 a couple of weeks back. It felt good. I’m just getting over my calf strain and have run a couple of 5ks but I’m now full of sinus pain and a head cold (again) I literally can’t believe it! Worst luck. πŸ™„

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10β€’ in reply toDendev75

Oh no !I know how you feel ,

My sinus issue was really just the latest in what seems like an endless stream of issues!

Probably been around 14 months since I felt 100 %

Take care , the running will wait for us 🀞

That’s a long time 😒

You’re right it will - I didn’t mind missing out when the weather was snowy and icy but I really love it when you see signs of spring appearing.

It was a gorgeous day…too good to resist! I love times runs…especially on β€˜there and back’ routes, and isn’t C25k brilliant for dipping into when it’s needed!😊

Yes, time runs take away the pressure of a certain distance !I'm undecided but might do w6r1 πŸ€”

Pleased you got out for a run. Nothing like a little run on a bright sunny morning!

I still can't get over the way we say things like "just" a 2km run. Three years ago, in spite if being a regular walker, I couldn't have run 200m let alone 2 km. I think we forget sometimes how beneficial at 2 km run is for both mind and body. Just far enough to get that little running buzz that we all crave ❀️.

Give yourself a huge pat on the back. It's the commitment of people like yourself and the other forum "officials" who are responsible for so many of us discovering this little secret!!
