Quick question, are parkruns only on Saturday? I can see on the site that there are junior ones on Sunday but I'm sure I've seen some adults with parkruns on Sunday. TIA ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

Official parkruns are only ran on a Saturday morning and junior parkruns ran on a Sunday morning, however, you can run a (not) parkrun anywhere you want to and a "Freedom parkrun" on a official Parkrun course at any time you want to except on a Saturday morning of course

I've run a freedom parkrun on a parkrun course at 9am on a Saturday morning. That week's meet was cancelled but a group of us turned up anyway as we hadn't realised. One of the group knew the route and we lined up at the marked start point and shouted "Go!" at 9am.

If it had been an official event, it would have been my best ever parkrun time too!

Excellent run for you nowster, a pity that the official run was cancelled as your run would not be recognised as No.? on the parkrun website or as a PB.

There is a run local organisation that hosts 2k and 5k events on Sundays, but itโ€™s nothing like as widespread as parkrun. It might be that that you have seen. parkrun is always on a Saturday (plus Christmas and NYD for most, but not all, events)

Hi OldManRunning, Parkrun want to engage as many people as possible and to capture their effort. It all supports their claims for funding. This is incredibly important as Parkrun is free to all. The IT infrastructure established is superb, very often my Parkrun results are published before I get home! Parkrun is an uplifting experience for me. You can register with PR and just submit your (not) Parkruns and as a tourist if you want to run a course local to you when on holiday but not on a Saturday you can enter your run.

Here is some detailed info from the FAQ's on the Parkrun site regarding (not) parkrun:

Is it open in every parkrun country?

Yes, subject to national public health and government guidelines regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) parkrunners in every territory in which we operate can take part in (not)parkrun.

Do I have to do my (not)parkrun at my home parkrun course?

No, you can walk, jog, or run your (not)parkrun anywhere you like (providing it is safe to do so).

Can I do a (not)parkrun on a treadmill?

Yes, you can complete your (not)parkrun on a treadmill and then input your time on your profile.

Do I have to do the same route every week?

No, you can choose to do the same route, or something different every time, itโ€™s entirely up to you.

Will this count towards my parkrun milestone t-shirt?

No. (not)parkrun is entirely separate to parkrun and participation in it does not count towards any parkrun milestones.

Should I do my walk/jog/run at 9am on a Saturday or Sunday morning?

You can do, but you donโ€™t have to.

How do I submit a time? Do I need proof?

You donโ€™t need proof of your walk, jog, run. (not)parkrun works on an honesty basis. Via a link in your profile you can submit a time any day of the week.

How do I log into my parkrun profile?

For instructions on how to log in to your parkrun profile, please see here

How often can I submit a time?

You can only submit one time each day of the week. You can find out how to do this in your parkrun profile. Your fastest time that week will be included in that weekโ€™s results.

When does the week start / finish?

The (not)parkrun week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday.

When is the cut-off time to be included in a (not)parkrun week?

Times must be uploaded by midnight Sunday to be included in a weekโ€™s results.
