Parkrun this morning in my new shoes. Wow they are so comfy!
So they did the usual "Any Milestones" celebrations and this guy shouted out "230th Venue". I then overheard him talking to people around him explaining that he's done over 600 parkruns and this is his 230th different course. WOW! That's some commitment.
At PR#8 my 50th T-shirt still seems a long way off, let alone 600+.

Congratulations for completing your 8th parkrun, for you to run 600 parkruns, you will have to be at a Saturday morning parkrun every week for 11 years and about 4 months.
Look out for some doubles and extras at Christmas to shave off a few weeks! I can't even imagine getting to 600. I wonder what the milestone shirt after 500 is - 1000 with built in flashing lights?
Crikey, was that chap one of the founders? Did he have a golden barcode? (only the founders who started at Bushy Park have those) wow, parkrun royalty 🤴..... I’m sure we had a chap come to our local one who had over 500 runs and that was ages ago, might have been the same person.......
I think there are a growing number in the 500+ category, they are usually London based early adopters of the first few locations. I met a man in Japan a few weeks ago who had done 640, also with a huge list of locations. Like me, he was there for the rugby, but unlike me had been there all the way from the start of the pool stage. England’s first match had been in Sapporo, which doesn’t yet have a parkrun. He had been most disappointed to break his 160 week streak. I am not sure what I find hardest to get my head round, the 13 years or more of parkrunning, or the 3 years or so without missing a week.
That is a very committed guy. I got my 50 T-Shirt this year and I love it. I’ve done 57 parkruns so far and i am aiming to be at 60 before the end of the year. I’m going to be aiming for my 100 and 25 Volunteer T-Shirts in 2020.
