A quick update to say I’m still alive and running.
The parkruns are currently the only running I am doing, with the light and weather eliminating what time I have left outside work. Both runs went quite well, although no records were set.
30th event next week, then on to 40 and 50 before I repeat any. I have made a list of events I can reach within an hour of my house, and it should easily get me over 50. We are well supplied with parkruns here.
I am still doing strength work at the gym about twice a week, and I even managed to have a bike ride on Sunday, for the first time in over a month.
Looking forward to the longer, sunnier days!

Alice Holt is a bit further out of London than your usual runs Charliemouse. Did you enjoy it? At this time of year with the awful weather we’ve had just a parkrun a week is understandable, especially for those working during daylight hours.
Hopefully it will get lighter, brighter and drier soon
Alice Holt is a beautiful area. And the group there were fun and friendly.
It was a bit further than usual, although I will have to get used to it in order to reach 50. It actually only took 45 minutes, despite the sat nav suggesting an hour. I put that down to no one else on the roads mad enough to be out at that time of the morning.
I am treating the whole 'leaving the house at 7.30 on a Saturday morning' as just as much of a challenge as the whole running thing.
Yes I checked it out on the website and it’s on our list of ones to do.
If Southampton is within your travel distance, a whole group of us will be there on 18 April . It could be your first VRB meet up. 🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🐕
I see my good friend Dexy5 is citing my knowledge of London parkruns. I think from what I have seen of your posting we have a reasonable overlap in ones we have visited. Around half of the 40 locations I have run are London ones, generally on either a radius from Twickenham or a radius from central London.
Good for you IAmCharliemouse and congratulations on now running 29 parkruns, I have now ran 16, a bit interesting on how many people have ran parkruns since my first last July, I was looking back at my first, however, it says my first is 16, that is altogether the number I have ran, but looking at others some have only ran 1 or 2 in all that time, I just wonder if they did not like running at parkruns, it reminds me a little of how many runners graduate from C25K and don't run again after that, which is a pity, good luck to you for eventually getting to run 50 parkruns.
