I hadn’t run for two and a half weeks. Partly because it wasn’t safe with all that ice on the roads, and partly due to a family medical emergency. This led to so much sitting in a hospital, three hours of difficult driving every day and constant anxiety-driven eating of rubbish.
Thankfully, the worst seems to be over now, so this morning it was on with the togs and out for my 4km hilly consolidation run. It was a hard one - lugging a new spare tyre upwards and running out of puff half way through. For some unknown reason Garmin’s VOMax seemed to like it and knocked a year off my age!
Happy runnings y’all.

Well done HeavyFoot on your 4k run. Sorry to hear you’ve been having a stressful time, but pleased things seem to be on a bit more of an even keel. I’m ignoring my Garmin at the moment, we’re not seeing eye to eye 🤣.
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time lately HeavyFoot .I've no idea how you managed to impress the watch though. Mr Garmin has been in a total sulk with me since I went on holiday at the end of September
Well done for getting back out there and doing that 4k. My running has suffered a bit too recently due to life getting in the way, it does happen I'm afraid, totally understand. I've not missed a week but some weeks it's been just a couple of 'around the block' 3k's
That’s a lot better than nothing OG. The rule of thumb is that we retain fitness for two weeks. But not when you’re hellbent on eating dreadfully as well!
