Parkrun cancelled

Of the 4 parkruns I attend, 2 were cancelled because of snow and ice, I was going to go to Springburn Parkrun which wasn't cancelled but decided to go to Palacerigg, when I was walking up to the start I met two marshalls who told me that the run was off due to the ice, Dunfermline parkrun was also off due to snow and ice, I will try Springburn next week weather permitting.

That looks like a beautiful place to run. Glad you managed to find something nice to do despite the cancellations.

I have a plan B MissUnderstanding, if a bus or train does not turn up or a parkrun is cancelled I run a 3K somewhere, perhaps in the local park near to where I live, however, this morning I was told that the parkrun at Palacerigg was cancelled by the marshalls I met about 1 Kilometre from the start, I looked at my watch, 9 o'clock, so I started to run a 3K around part of the course, including the icy bit you see in the photo, of course I walked very slowly over that part and another very icy bit about 50 metres further on, so I completeted a slow 3K in around 22 minutes.

Yes a lot of parkrun courses were cancelled here too Alan. My local one went ahead after a course inspection. Better to be safe than sorry. Keep well and keep warm.

I am keeping warm Dexy thanks, this afternoon I took Holly the dog a short walk, there was a slight snow shower after I got, home this morning, the cold weather didn't stop me from eating my usual ice cream swirl which I always eat after a run on a Saturday and Wednesday morning.

Safety comes first. Hopefully next week you’ll get your parkru. The picture u send looks very icy. Think you have had it worse more than us. Meant to be some snow here overnight but if it does it will be snow tracks on trainers , hope u get out on your walk as well .

Of course safety comes first Doris8, the cold spell is still to be with us next weekend, that will probably mean the ice you see in that photograph will still be there and the parkrun cancelled once again, nevertheless it won't stop me going my Sunday morning walk this morning, (not the same place) I will be very careful that I don't fall, this morning's walk is about 11K, enjoy Sunday and wrap up to keep warm.
