I'd planned to run yesterday because the forecast was better but it didn't happen. This morning the cat woke me at 6am by biting me on the leg which was hanging out of the bed.
Sitting, listening to the rain and planning where to run. I knew Willow wouldn't go out in the rain so I could go anywhere I wanted.
I thought of the Downs with far reaching views of rolling hills, not dissimilar to the Devon countryside where Tim ran and where I was born but not today
To the sea then.
My left thigh (quad) still twinges every so often so I'd take on board advice learned here, don't push it, pace doesn't matter.
A longer than usual warm up walk gets me to the main road, a gentle run takes me to the beach, steady, conversational pace, keep running, keep smiling, and I did, for 3k. Clambered down the beach to take photos of the distant Worthing pier, can only just see it, back up the beach and head for home.
I pass a few runners here and there and to each one a cheery good morning, keep running, keep smiling.
Thoughts of all I've learned during this running journey and a huge thank you for every one of them.
In the early days, guidance from too many people to mention but amongst all those words of wisdom I hear in my head every run,
" conversational pace" , and of course, " keep running, keep smiling"
Tim's legacy will live on here and Healthunlocked runners will remember IannodaTruffe and his wonderful posts about running and how to enjoy it
Keep running, keep smiling
