Not run for a while - rain/work/family illness … you name it and I had a reason not to run.
Bear with me … Rewind to Friday 11th when a large stone hit my windscreen. While I was wondering if it could be repaired a 6” crack sprayed out from it - sounded like a pistol shot and all very scarey but answered my question - can’t be repaired. I definitely need a new windscreen. Now this was more complicated than I first thought as modern cars have moisture/ lane change sensors etc. and I would have to wait a week. All I can say is thank goodness for laminated glass.
I had dentist booked for 8.30am but you’ve guessed it, when windscreen fitter contacted, they would be with me between 8.05am and 11.05 am 😕
Only one thing for it … leave OH on windscreen duty. I donned my running gear and ran to dentist - nothing needed - come back in 6 months (thank you very much) and ran home covering about 6k in all.
Windscreen fitted in my absence so good to go as soon as I’d got myself ready.
The moral of this story is that even when I don’t think I have time to run, I really do. Just got to stop making excuses.
I went out for 5k this morning in the dark before the rain started and did a PB 👏
Happy running everyone 🏃♀️🐌🏃🏻♂️
