My sister registered us for the North Shore Marathon-Quarter Marathon run for the bling and the t-shirt first few were going to get, I went along and ran with her 😄 She wanted to do HM but I was not upto it so soon, so we did 10.5k. I didnot realise the whole distance bar a km or so would be a beach run! Never ran on sand/beach before so it was a new experience. Thankfully it did not rain and the weather turned out to be perfect. I was not too keen to run in cold and rain as the forecast was rain for the morning.
I did my slow run and completed in 1hr 27min.
Here's some pics of the bling, t-shirt and the course. Yes, it says 2021 because last year's event got cancelled and they used same for 2022.

Running was a bit harder on the sand as it moves under your feet but the views made up for it in plenty. The tide had started coming in quite a bit when returning so at some spots the waves were comimg almost upto the sea wall.We just went to a nearby local restaurant and had a small lunch. The plan was to have a giant almond croissant and coffee for me and french toast plus coffee for my sister. The place we wanted to go to was closed, so we settled for the next door bar/restaurant and just shared some lunch, there were not many choices.
It was beautiful course but running on the sand was unfamiliar. The tide had slowly started coming in when we started and at some spots the waves were almost close to the sea wall by the time we were finishing. It is a calm beach so the waves were very gentle, kind of touchimg the feet and going back
