Running again

Having had and recovered from a fairly mild case of Covid, today was the day to run again. We agreed we'd only do 3km and take it easy, so set off gently across the fields. It was so good to be out again, our last run was on 11th, and today is 30th. The last time we ran here was ...ooh, ages, the 1st!

The fields are dry but the footpaths have all been mown so running is as good as it could be. It's also very flat which I like :) The first km felt like hard work but we speeded up with each passing km. Splits were 8'52, 8'00, 7'51. I wasn't tempted to run any further this time, no point in pushing myself too soon. My VO2 hasn't deteriorated despite my slobbing around for the last couple of weeks, surprisingly it is still in the blue.

We are lucky to live in a beautiful place, this amazing Thames Barge was moored here for the last few days. I can see it from my bedroom window, incredible.

Maybe Covid has at last loosened it’s grip and fallen away from you now. What a wonderful place to run, looks so serene, and negative splits too, I’ve still never managed those

The negative splits are very rarely achieved, and today probably only because we only did 3km. It's usually the 4th km where I slow down :)

Ah well done on getting out after that naughty covid struck. That’s a good distance to go for! The mown paths sound just right, and lucky you having that for a view! 😊😊😊

The farmer does a great job, it's almost like it's designed for our runs :)

That sounds like such a lovely run. Stunning scenery. Covid is miserable. Hope that’s the end of it now. ❤️
