Back after lengthy absence

Well after a 2 weeks holiday followed by nasty episode of covid forcing me to my bed for over 3 weeks this morning I put my trainers on and ventured out of the door. No expectations my plan just to get out and see if my leg and Lungs remembered what to do….. managed to get to 2.5K and then run/walk to 5k. Certainly didn’t break any records and historically I would have given myself such a hard time over this but due to the support and encouragement I have received from this group in the past I am taking that as a win. My aim is to get back to 5k before pushing back on to my 10k runs. Hope everyone is okay and enjoying their running. Xxx

Well done you. I’m in the exact same boat. Just before 5 weeks ago I was running 15K. Then Holidays, and 3 weeks of an awful head cold caused by air conditioning on the last night of the holiday I ended up on an inhaler, steroids, antibiotics and an antihistamine. I’m only feeling better now. So going to attempt a jeffing 5K run on Tuesday evening.

Oh gosh I feel your pain….. I’ve been putting off going out due to the lengthy lay off and the hot weather….. made my mind up this morning to just go for it and see what happened. Good luck on Tuesday. Sure there will be more fitness there than you think. Let us know how you go…..
