I’ve adapted the magic plan to swap out the shorter run with my GoodGym session on a Tuesday - it usually is about the right time but in a few separate runs (run to meeting point, run to task, run back from task).
This morning was the long run of week 3 - so 45 minutes (as I couldn’t find a NRC guided run for 44 minutes). The day started with an early (for the weekend) alarm so we could take the dog down to the beach for a low tide walk before the sun came out. And then I went for a run straight after and before it got any hotter (was already 22 degrees when I got home before 9am).
My route varied from my plans as I chased the shade around - so more parks and gardens than seafront today. 45 minutes felt like a long time but I’d paced myself well and could run till the end. Not only that but I got to the end of the run at pretty much a perfect place for a 5 minute cool down walk home.
Feeling pleased with myself and grateful to my body for all the adapting it’s doing to allow me to keep progressing.
