A patchy month.

After graduating in April I was full of beans and continued running 3 x week until the end of June and gradually increased distance up to 8k. Then life got extremely busy and for 2 weeks I only ran weekly and felt my mojo slipping away.

The following week I joined my husband for the last 2 days of his week 8 (he has since graduated yay!) and then headed out for an easy 5k a couple of days later. Mojo was back, and I decided on starting the 10k Magic Plan to keep things going. Did the first run of week one and then... struck with horrible bug, several days in bed and off work. So today joined husband during his first consolidation week and did an easy 4k.

Am thinking I might just continue running with husband for a bit as it's quite nice having company. I am still keen to extend distance though, need to find a way to combine the two somehow.

Mojo's are fikle things at the best of times! As long as you are enjoying your runs, that's really all that matters .

Just enjoy running with your husband for now .

Everything else might then become clearer in time .

There is no rush

Such is the life of the runner - we get ill, or injured, or life gets in the way. No worries, take your time and enjoy those runs with your husband - the road is long and there are many more miles out there waiting for you! (Could you run with your husband and then carry on a bit on your own if you want to run further btw?) Good luck🙂

Thanks, Sandraj39, I will try to take my time and enjoy what I have. Carrying on a bit is definitely an option if we run from home. Although he might not mind waiting in the car for me....!

Well, since you weren't able to run as much in July and are now coming back from illness Bluefly that could tie in nicely with your husband's consolidation runs, if you want to keep running together. Then if he's also interested in extending distance you could maybe do the Magic Plan together.

Of course, you might find that you need to find other solutions, depending on your respective paces and how each of you prefers to run. Have fun finding out!

Some we win,,, some we don't win quite as well as we may have wished...just go with the flow...take it the way your body is telling you to and just enjoy x

My mojo is good for training, it keeps running away from me. A mix of different distances and pace has kept my mojo corralled at times.

Glad your mojo was lurking around, we run together but although Willow runs faster i almost always run longer so we start together, he whizzes off and does his thing then patiently waits for me to finish then we go home together, that might work for you
