The Eymet Social Running Club meets on Sunday mornings to do a 7-10k run. This week itβs my birthday, so they asked me if Iβd like to pick a route around the area where we have our house. Shake-and-run and I went out on Monday to recce the route which links together parts of various different routes I usually run on my own, to make a circular route. We started off running up to the restaurant for fantastic views over the vineyards to Bergerac, along the ridge to Monbazillac, a welcome downhill stretch, then onto a trail through the vineyards. Up the hill to the road, down a farm track and then the final uphill push across βourβ vineyard back to the house, where Mr S awaited with iced water, Bucks Fizz, coffee, birthday cake kindly baked by Shakes and a raspberry tart from our wonderful bakery. Garmin let me down badly though, only recording 6.89k when the person I was running with recorded 9.28 π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ Still, a lovely run with a great bunch of people. Only one more week, then weβre heading back to Blighty βΉοΈ

It was a lovely run, got a bit warm towards the end. Mr S. was an excellent host/butler and Iβm glad the cake was alright.
