Early run around the hill this morning. I was able to tick off two NRC audio-coached runs. One recovery run for my warm-up and one interval speed run for the main session.
The last time I ran, there were quite a few branches pulled down into the path, and at that time, I had to double back as I could not pass them.
My husband had done a walk this morning, armed with a pocket saw. But on his return, he reported back that someone had already removed all the branches that had been in our way.
He did clear the path further on from any brambles and nettles. But according to him, there must now be at least two or three “keepers of the trails”.
I thank them for their efforts to keep the trails free for dog walkers and runners.
Despite the freed path, I returned hot and sweaty, having misjudged the temperature and donning a long sleeve t-shirt, and my different gears for my speed run were pretty all the same. But still, I was proudly returning from my run!
I need to rely a bit more on my running in the next few weeks. My indoor rower has not been in use for quite a few days; we had to move it out of our guest room because we expect a friend to stay with us for four weeks. We look forward to that, but it has disrupted my rowing, as the rower has moved into our living room behind our couch. It just doesn’t feel as good going to row there, also as my husband does his office work in the living room. Bummer.
I am beginning to understand people wanting to build their man-cave-gym-shed-thing, even as a woman! So here’s to dreaming about women-gym-sheds.
So happy dreaming, running, and make sure you hydrate in this heat!
