Another speed run

Quick speed run (intervals) this morning finishing up week 1 of the NRC 5k plan.

The two NRC speed runs this week were the same as in the Get Started plan, but were still highly enjoyable. As I knew what was coming, I could chose some fairly flat routes.

And was just still early enough for it to be fresh with a cool breeze.

Nothing new discovered, but just conscious of running much more often with shorts and capris and tank-tops, something I certainly did not do when I started.

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!

A good run there CBDB ! And some nice shady path with a breeze sounds perfect. I have a few pairs of capris but they’re pretty old so none have pockets. I need to search out some more! 😊😊😊

I have a pair of now very old Ron Hill ‘Cargo’ capris. They have been my best ever buy. On sale for £14. They don’t exist now so I’ve got to look after them 🙂. They have two side, long slit pockets and expand to hold whatever snacks, etc you want to fill them with - the 250 ml soft flasks fit perfectly - and a big expandable zip pocket at the back. I’ve worn them for each of my marathons

My fave shorts have plenty of pockets and cubbies all around the waist band - Decathlon Evadict trail shorts. I adore them I hate carrying stuff so it’s pockets all the way for me.

I hope you can find what you need. Bon voyage 👍😀

Yes, Lucy Locket has some with lovely side pockets, but they are a bit dearer than the ones with only back pockets. So I haven’t quite invested into these yet.

I think Ron Hill has a replacement but with only one side slide pocket. It must be to make them cheaper to make but it’s a wasted opportunity I reckon.

There’s always bargains out there. I am always on a budget so never buy current stuff. It’s always older stock. Bit like meself 🙂

Ronhill does the four-way stretch capris now which is better around the knee area. I have psoriasis so am always trying to avoid seams

That looks like my perfect run at the moment - nice flat shady paths!

Yeah, it’s cool and shaded for 70% of the route. Perfect!

Looks like a lovely place to run 🙂

When I first started out, I ran in capris…not obviously “sporty”!

My daughter thought I looked like a bag lady, so bought me some decent running clothes for Mother’s Day that year 😂

…but why oh why aren’t there more/bigger pockets in leggings! I need to store my phone and keys! 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️

Pockets! Tell me about it! 🤷🏽‍♀️🤣🤣 (Lucy Locket had some with side pockets, but they are a bit dearer than the ones with only back pockets)

Capri shorts? don’t they come down past your knees? my running shorts barely come down past my bottom and even they are too hot at times. What a lot of fun running you are having though

Thank you! Yeah, I still need a bit of length. 😏🤭😀

It’s good to be back running more though isn’t it? I think I probably still need a bit of length really but I’m sure no one out there is looking at me and thinking what awful legs 😂😂😂 mind you they are getting a nice colour in this sun

Mine are still pretty white, but I’m working my way up to your length of shorts! 😂😂

And yes, it’s lovely to be able to run regularly again. You are absolutely right! (Besides aiming for shorted shorts, I haven’t quite gotten to my longer, ideal route length yet, but slowly getting there. )

So pleased to hear that, it’s such a good thing to be able to run, I’m working my way back to longer runs, they are my favourite thing

Nice pic. 👍 Shade is lovely in this heatwave. ☀☀🌞(Not sure why I have black sun emojis - bit of a Soundgarden reference!)

Looks like a good walk area too. I wear capris and shorts too but my capris decathlon really thin for summer. Got in Madeira.
