Getting back slowly . . .

Well my quest to get back to some longer distances after months and months of mostly 3k runs progressed this past week with three 5k's. After months of various health issues 5k still seems quite arduous at the moment but still doable but I was pleased that I managed them all in what is for me is a normal time, around 32 mins. Not quite sure yet the plan for next week but hopefully maybe one or two 'further than 5k' runs. Have a good running weekend everybody πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ˜€

This sounds really positive πŸ™Œ you can always take the pace back a bit to go further initially. Awesome signs though so a big well done!!

Hi Orangeguy, Well done building up your distance again, it takes time to get back the stamina doesn't it...

Great to hear from you. Happy running.

Yes it certainly does, I've definitely lost some stamina over the past months . . .

Good to see that you are running after moving on from health issues. πŸ˜ŠπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Well done you... just go easy on yourself and enjoy the come back :) So many of us for so many reasons, getting back to it.Catch-Up Corner on C25K forum has had loads of repeaters over the last year! Including me... took me ages to get back to 5K... and what a joy it was:)

Just run and let it evolve? The relaxed slow runs that build everything up are so useful.

I felt on the way back that I was just creeping so slowly and eventually got back to 10K a month or so back.

Having made that, for me now I am just enjoying runs as and when. Still not pushing too hard?

Enjoy finding your way back to where you want to be... x

That’s really great and really fast 5ks keep running happy, if you run longer one run you could run shorter the others

Thats a good idea, I think all runs are going to have to be early with this heat . . .

I’m following a HM plan and it’s one long 3 easy and 2 speed runs a week, I can’t run 5 times every week so take extra rest days and stretch them out a bit, the first run of the week is 15 minutes and the last run of the week is the long run, I was up to 8 k this week and it’s 10k next week but if it’s still hot I will do short runs til it cools down a bit

Congrats on your patience - I think that would have driven me up the wall! Hope the running renaissance continues to go well. πŸ‘πŸ€ž

I'm not sure I've been that patient, so my partner tells me anyway πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
