Starting Lines of a new Plan

This morning I found myself on the next starting line. All ready to go, all set, NRC switched on and Coach Bennett dragged along for the ride!

My chosen plan: 5k Plan in the NRC app.

Reason being that I’m still consolidating from my recent Z25k graduation (2nd time around) and still want the perks of following a plan.

Today, Sunday, was busy:

The run in the morning around my usual hilly trail fit my timing exactly, with a 7 min warmup walk-then-jog, a longer section around the hill, and a relaxing slower jog before cooling down with a walk. So I ticked off in NRC’s 5k plan (lasting 8 weeks):

- Week 1’s Seven min run

- Week 1’s One mile run

- Week 1’s Five min run

That felt ok, not great, but a run is a run and I’ll celebrate it as such. But for some reason the usual post-run euphoria was missing, although the weather was great with a few refreshing drizzles thrown in between some sunny spells, I felt a bit lethargic.

Of course the real workout came 2 hours later, where I embarked on another 10k indoor rowing session. And this not only gave me that runner’s high 😃😄😁😊😀 , but I also discovered another indoor rower in the weird world of Zwift rowed-running avatars!

The theme of sports continued as we watched Wimbledon and sipped strawberry (non-dairy) milkshakes !

Happy Sunday, indeed!
