I completed JuJu's plan and ran my first 10 k on 1 July 2019 (where does the time go?), in a time of 1:20:07. Since then, I've run 10k+ a further 385 times, including 20 HMs and 30 runs of between 10 miles and HM didtance. My 10k PB now stands at 53:43.
Today I reached an interesting milestone (well, it's interesting to me at least). Today's run took me to the point where my all time average run distance is now over 10k/run.
At the end of 2019, when I started this whole running malarky, my average run distance was 7.76km. My average run distance in 2020 was 9.69km and in 2021 it was up to 11.91km. So far, for 2022, my average is 13.66km with my all-time average being the 10km mentioned above. Not sure if I'll ever edge it up over 11km/run, but somehow that doesn't seem quite as significant.
The other landmark was that I chalked up parkrun number 40 yesterday. Now just to try and earn my red t-shirt before my birthday at the start of October...
