Starting out on a new Journey

I guess this isn't an unusual journey but it is mine.

I am now at my 5th Parkrun. I still haven't breached the magical barrier of 5k in 30 minutes with my best time to date 32:08. I have decided to none the less push on and to try for a 10k in the Autumn.

I have added a couple of gym sessions into the mix, an easy longer run 07:30 pace last night for 6k over 45mins and hope to extend those out to an 1hr and plan some tempo/interval sessions with two rest days a week and a park run as often as I can.

Does that sound like a credible plan ?

Sounds good to me as long you remember that you best development will come by keeping around 80% of your running at a comfortable conversational pace.So rather than judging it by numbers , try and get a feel for perceived effort.

Good luck 👍
