This morning I was trotting along listening to a podcast, when there was suddenly a lot of tooing and froing in the sound in my ears. For a moment, I thought I might be having some kind of episode! Then it stopped and I realised that I only had one speaker working and I had to do the rest of my run in mono.
They weren't expensive, but they were great. So, now I need a new set, I'm asking d for recommendations.
I don't need them to be super sonic, woofy sound and I don't want to spend loads (the last ones were £20!). I was wondering about the ones which are completely wireless (my last ones connected to each other with a wire, but not the device. Are they comfy? Do they fall out?
Any thoughts welcome.
Thanks
Liz

I suppose nothing lasts forever. I’ve run with completely wireless ear buds ever since we started March 2019, I’ve bought a few pairs, given some away, after all how many pairs do you need?? Currently I have 2, one that automatically connects to my watch and one that automatically connects to my phone.
They have never fallen out and all cost around £20 on Amazon.
The only slight issue we’ve ever had was mine connected to Willows watch when we had a matching pair which was a bit frustrating, Cold Play is too slow for me to run to.
We started C25K wearing one each which meant I had to keep up and always listened to Cold Play 😀
I had a pair I bought cheap while in China some years ago and they finally broke !So I got these last November from Amazon , they have the ear hooks which I like to stop them falling out
In a fit of 'all the gear, no idea' I treated myself to a Garmin watch and Aftershokz headphones once I finished C25K. I really like them as you can hear what's going on around you as well as your music. If the idea appeals why not splash out, you're worth it! Think of all the money you're saving by running
I'm talking about the gym subscriptions I'm not paying for (and equally not feeling guilty about not going to). All the clothes I'm not having to buy because I'm not getting fatter. The shampoo I'm saving because I'm leaving washing my hair until tomorrow after I run.Yeah, OK @nowster it's not a lot I'm saving but I still maintain I'm worth it 😂😂😂
Have to agree, if someone had told me 2 years ago that I would probably have more running gear than anything else, I would have laughed, but all I seem to buy these days is something to do with running!!🤣🤣
Definitely, every time I’m out shopping it’s running gear that I’m looking at. I was sitting in the hospital the other day Googling trainers with a comment over my shoulder from my husband saying your not buying more shoes are you? I said no I’m looking up that girls shoes that she has on 😉
I really struggle with ear buds as my ears are so small they just fall out!! So I've always preferred hook over. I got jlab ones from John Lewis - most I've spent at £50 but they're good. Only dislike is a touch pad control instead of proper buttons which I always seem to tap wrong 🤣 My last pair were mpow ones from amazon about £20 which were great too (and had buttons!)
Thanks, in the end I've just bought some jlab in ear, no wires for 20 quid from JL. Thought I'd give them a go. I have small ear lobes too, but my last pair were jlab, so I thought I'd try these.
I use bone conducting headphones (aftershokz) and they are allowed in nearly all races. They are wireless and dont pop out because not in, in the first place. the ones i got were £80 (and a xmas present!)
You can get cheaper copies. In races, especially with road crossings, the bone conducting ones are the only allowed ones as you can still hear what is happening around you
No not at all, they hook just over your ear and I often forget they are there. When they play they do vibrate so I think you notice it if it was full volume and you were standing still but that never happens for me
Great post thank you - I’m also in the process of thinking of buying something too and leaving my pods at home, I’ve been looking into bone conduction headphones so if running I can still hear what’s going on around me, never guessed so much work and thought would go into buying new headphones- but still looking can’t wait to read your replies.
