Had a lovely five weeks in rural France with three runs a week of 6,7&8km. Nothing too demanding down quiet French lanes. The trees were in full blossom and it really felt as though summer had arrived.
Then we got to the Tunnel last Thursday and my better half started with a small but persistent cough. It degenerated into full hacking cough, sneezing and a dreadful headache. Back home, she tested positive for Covid and is now resting in bed. It seems like a really heavy cold and now today, Mayday, my chest is feeling constricted and I have a little dry cough. I’ll test myself tomorrow but I suspect I’ve got the damned virus. Therefore, I probably won’t feel like going for my Monday morning run! I suspect I’ll retain my general level of fitness for a couple of weeks but feel frustrated to get this now. Oh well, if I have it, I suppose I’m lucky it will probably be the Omicron strain so not too serious.

What a pain! We are just recovering from covid. Thought we had managed to dodge it but no! I had about three weeks off but am slowly getting back to it and my experience is just to take it fairly easy. Hope you are soon up and running.
Really sorry to hear that you have had the virus too. Hopefully, you’ll make a full recovery soon. I’d thought that I may miss only a week or so but am feeling so wretched today, that I reckon three weeks as a minimum may be required. But, as you say, take it easy.
