Writing this post whilst catching my breath from my final 5.5k run of the week!

2.5k (actually did 2.55k as I didn’t realise i’d finished 🤣) - Time: 16:41 - Pace: 6’32

Struggled with this run more than I thought I would - my legs weren’t playing ball with me and I unintentionally ran on a hilly route - oops!

5k - Time: 30:58 - Pace: 6’11

My best pace of the week but I really felt it by the end, went a bit quick off the starting blocks and I was puffed out by 4k. Happy with the time though!

5.5k - Time: 35:55 - Pace: 6’31

A much more comfortable run than my previous two (can you call 5.5k comfortable?!). Paced myself really well this time and didn’t feel as puffed out as I did on my previous run. Slow and steady wins the race 😁

Now onto Week 2!

Sounds like a great week! That's a seriously impressive 'slow and steady' pace (I am *very* slow!) Well done 👍👏👏👏😃

Thank you! I think I need to find an even steadier pace now i’m going further 😬 I have the tendency to go too quickly and tire myself out 😂

Hi girlsjustwannarun , as you're realising, now that you're increasing distance you really do need to keep to a comfortable pace. That's much more effective at developing stamina; there's no point in getting puffed out. I wouldn't worry about how long it takes you to complete a particular run. After all, the point of the distance version of the Magic Plan is to enable you to run 10k, and you're not going to be doing that at the same pace as you run 5k. Enjoy getting to 10k!
