Yesterday was a pretty rubbish day in the game of life. So much so that I really couldn't be bothered to go out for a run today and moped around lying in front of the fire reading your tales on this forum.
However, a post from Beatlesforever and some of the responses kickstarted me back in to the present. My running kit sadly failed the sniff test but to be honest I really didn't care. I just needed to get out so put it on. Urghhh!
Today was supposed to be a recovery run but in light of my change in mindset I decided to run "The Shifter" NRC guided run by Coach Corey.
I had my usual battles getting through the first 10 minutes before exploding in to life. Gear changes were happening. Speed happened. Effort happened until the very end when we are going at our very best.
Blimey! I even had a big grin on my chops at the end.
Sometimes it is good to find we can actually use our gears.
That's absolutely brilliant!! I must say, the NRC speed runs that I've done so far have always made me feel better. So happy to read that Coach Cory had the same effect on you 🤗😀
It was just what I needed to get rid of those pesky gremlins and dark clouds. My spirit was lifted and when the gears eventually clicked into place, it felt great. Coach Cory was encouraging too 👍
My kit gets a quick wash (20 minutes) after every run. Even after short runs it's usually quite damp from me sweating. It very easily gets whiffy otherwise.
Feel your pain I’ve avoided running this week too much going on 😩😩 but this is why I started running to get me time, something for me…… so I did the Coach Bennett don’t want to run run!! Feeling better back in the room!! 3 days before my runniversary 🥳
