Hello π. How are you all? Iβm sitting on the plumped up cushions of the Runnerβs Injury Couch π and have been reading posts about scary tunnels, new running shoes, 8ks, 10ks, post run chocolate π« box raiding, beautiful runs in nature and everything in between. You have all been very busy!
I have an appointment with the ankle and foot specialist at the end of March, so Iβm probably sitting tight on the IC until at least then π. However, I am pleased to report that I am allowed off the IC for dog walks, Pilates and physio exercises YAY π . However yoga π§πΌββοΈ is proving a bit tricky as my foot doesnβt react well to down-dog, and we all know Adrieneβs love for that pose, so Iβm having to creatively adapt a bit!
Iβm going to try and post each week and just say hello, with a photo from one of my walks. Todayβs photo is the drift of crocus flowers near our local pond. Isla and I made it round before the rain and wind set in!
Good for you DD. Keep that core strong and do loads of glute exercises which you can do without involving your ankle. I have yet to complete R3 wk 2β¦
Oh sorry to hear you are back on the IC, I was thinking that you'd not posted recently or I'd missed them. Great that you can still dog walk and do your Pilates. I know that January's YWA is what set off my knee niggling again so I understand your need to adapt.
That certainly looks an amazing display of crocus. They aren't out up here yet but my garden is full of snowdrops.
Hi Delly, what a shame about the prolonged IC, but being able to get out walking is definitely a plus. Lovely photo too. Nothing like here this morning π¦π¨π¦π¨π¦π¨
Adriene has many videos that donβt include downward dog, or other poses that may hurt your foot, and of course itβs always encouraged that we modify if any pose is uncomfortable. Itβs so good for the rest of your mind and body, so try to keep yoga up if you can! Have a search and Iβm sure sheβll serve up something you can enjoy! π§ββοΈ
Thank you Cheeky. I know trying to keep the yoga up will do me good, so I will persevere. As the walking, thank goodness for my four legged friend who gets me out in all weathers!
Sorry to hear you are on the couch for a while longer Delly-dot. Well done for keeping up the physio and being as active as you can.
Totally understand about the YWA, I found DD a no go when my foot was bad. I did do some hurt foot Pilates videos with Kim Saha on YouTube that I would recommend though.
Hello! Nice to hear from you, but so sorry about your ongoing injury. Glad you have a physio in place though. Look forward to you popping in on the forum! Take care and beautiful picture. π€
Hello DD, sorry to hear you are curled up comfy on the IC, got room for a little one though? Iβm a bit chattery but all I want at the moment is to lose myself in books and music so will be quiet while you heal π Walk when you can, rest when you need
I can definitely budge up for a natter and you are very welcome, but you are absolutely forbidden to sit here with an injury - you have lovely new trainers to run in! π
Iβm so sorry to hear that D-d and hope the specialist can sort you out when you see him (or her!). In the meantime I shall look forward to seeing your beautiful photos as Isla takes you out walking!
Sorry to hear about your extended time on the IC Hidden but good that you can still enjoy your walks and some yoga (something I must get back to myself).Take care π
Oh definitely keep posting, I would love to hear how youβre getting on. Iβm also just about hovering at the rim of my own injury couch, but my foot has gotten definitely better. But it took an annoyingly long time, with down dogs being off the menu for at least 6-7 weeks.
Get well card
Sorry to hear you're on IC, fingers crossed you'll be able to run again soon! How is Dabby-dot doing? Is she still running?
