Ok, I have to admit it: I’m having a blast of a time whilst I’m on the Injury Couch!
So whilst I’m badly missing running out in the great outdoors with all of you, my virtual running buddies, I’m still rowing, now daily, to keep my fitness up and it’s not really such a chore!
And as a virtual run-rower, all my virtual running challenges keep on motivating me:
1) Conquerors North Coast 500 officially accepts rowing, so I’m making my way through the Scottish Northern Wilderness. (My dream when I was younger was to cycle this route, but I never got around to it)
2) RUNLEJOG: yup VRBs, I’m still on that one, being such a slow runner and also not too fast a rower. Just passed Moffat in the Scottish Lowlands!
3) And in Watopia I just finished another 6k Route achievement that gave me a really bright purple outfit with purple running shoes! 😅😅👟💁♀️👚 (I’m showing it off in the pics, as you can see 🤣🤣)
Of course all the above achieved by rowing now, as my metatarsals are taking their time. I’m now thinking it could be rather a metatarsal plate fracture, rather than a metatarsal fracture or Morton’s Neuroma. Same treatment though, so no running! ☹️
But to keep me learning how to row, I am following the 30 days of 30 min rows by Scottish rowing trainer John Steventon as part of his RowAlong YouTube channel:
youtube.com/playlist?list=P...
It’s made it into my top 3 favourite rowing channels, so I always wanted to try his 30 day programme, not necessarily done in 30 days. I’m just working my way through it and am only on day 2. So much more fun to come. (Today was rowing without straps! 😳)
So even if not running in real, I’m running virtually with you all and alongside quite a few more virtual rowing buddies!
Keep on keeping on everyone!
