Well after spending 9 hours in A&E my black eye turned out to be a mild concussion. 2 weeks today when I fell I have to rest for at least another week so no running🏃♀️ and definitely no gym🏋️♂️. They will need to widen the doors for me when I get back.🙄
I took the 🐕 dog out for a short walk yesterday thought I would do it gradually perhaps a little further today.
I have looked forward to reading all your posts and hearing what you have all been up to. I am a little envious though and I have had to read them slowly cos the head still aches but slow and steady wins the race so they say
My question to all you experienced runners and my running family, how do I start? Is it back to C25K or jeffing.

Very frustrating for you Do. I guess you will have to follow what your body dictates but there will be those far better at advising you than me. Daily gentle walking must be a good start both for you and the dog and at least get you outside. As you say ' slow and steady' is what it's about. Thinking of you.
Hello doggytail , sorry to hear that it was concussion, but glad you got properly checked out.
I empathise with your frustration at not being able to run, as i'm in a not dissimilar position myself right now.
As far as restarting is concerned, follow the medical advice and take all the time necessary. The good news is that after a three-week break you certainly shouldn't need to re-do C25K, or jeff, unless you want to. You'll maybe have lost a bit of fitness, but certainly not everything. Walking will help, and you'll have had a rest too, so your muscles wil probably thank you!
In another week, ten days, or whatever, just go out and take it gently, see what you can do. You can always pîck up on later weeks of C25K if that helps. Please don't think you have to get back to where you were immediately though; t's much better to take things gradually.

A month ago I messed up my right leg, hip and back with a couple of falls, compounded by too much computer time and bad posture.
I took two weeks' break from running, then did three short runs the following week. Followed by another week off because my hip really wasn't happy. I've done two more short runs since, but am nowhere near where I was. Super-frustrating, but I'm trying to tell myself that given the progress I'd made previously, I can do it again.
Poor you! I had a fall with a large gash over my eyebrow and spectacular black eye in the autumn, so can empathise. It will take a while to get over this, so take care. You probably won't have to go back to the start, maybe just try some run/walks at first though. That's what I did. Good luck.
Ah a concussion even! Now do take enough time to get those brains settled, because a concussion can take a while to heal properly. Running does give shocks to the body, so I can imagine it is not good for those poos shaken brains! I'd wait until I was sure the concussion was fully gone before taking up running again. I had bumped my head hard a couple of weeks ago and I kept feeling a slight headache with bending for a while after. So I waited until I could fully move, bend and do anything without feeling any pain in the head.
As for restarting running, I'd just take it easy and do a slow jog and see how long you can go.
You have been i the wars, take it easy and don’t rush anything, lots of advice from others but if you are concerned I do know some people have run one run of each week of c25k to see where they are, if it’s easily achieved move on to the next week and so on until you get to the level you feel you are at. Following a break a couple of times I just go out there and run slowly and see how long i can comfortably do that and build from there, but i’ve never had a head injury so you will listen to what your body tells you and see how you go
