Resting

I’m just taking this week off from my HM plan as managed to slightly twist my knee at tennis. Does anyone else find it really annoying when you know you have to rest it but really you want to carry on! Oh that point anyone know how to halt the HM plan on Garnin so I don’t skip stages? I love playing tennis but got to admit every single knee niggle is due to that sport! Photo of my running partner who is having to make do with short walks instead this week!

Ouch! It is very frustrating when that sort of thing happens, especially if it's something other than running which has caused it.

Sorry, can’t help with the Garmin question - anything beyond distance, time and a cursory glance at my heartbeat afterwards 😱🤣 is beyond me! Hope your knee settles soon however - looks like your lovely running partner will wait patiently..🐶🙂

Just a thought about the tennis, might it be worth seeing a physio to find out whether there are any tennis related exercises that you could use to strengthen your muscles to avoid future injury?

(I know nothing about tennis but have huge awe of physios!)

Thank you. I don’t play much just taking lessons but it’s so easy to change direction and twist a knee. Yes I’m sure there are exercises to strengthen as you say. I had a knee op about 11 years ago and cycling was recommended but I’m sure there are specific exercises too. Thanks

Thank you. I know we’ve all been there frustrated when you can’t keep up your routine but knowing you just have to rest it out! Hope your running is going well

Don't press on if you are injured. It will only make things worse. Yes it is hugely frustrating but these things happen. At the very least try some strength exercises to give you something to do. But these are no substitute to running and ultimately we all (me included) need to learn that rest and strengthing are all components of running.
