Only 2.5

My friend who I hadn't seen for a while (he now goes to another gym) asked if he could join me for a 7.5k run round the park.

Great I said cos I haven't done a long run since graduating.

I duly walked to the gym 2miles that will do for my warm up and met in the car park.

Off we went chatting away, a first for me cos I'm usually talking to myself.

Once round 2.5 I've had enough says he see you next year gets in his car and off he goes.

Humph still haven't done a long run I'm not going round on my own far to dark.

Off I go back into the gym for a 30mins uphill walk on the treadmill lost my motivation to carry on running.

Will do the longer run next year when it's a little bit lighter at 6am.

Not impressed with your friend though. Is this the same one who did this to you before? Either way, if someone invites you to do a 7.5k run and then jacks it in after 2.5k just because they've changed their mind, that's thoughtless, to say the least.

The fact that this person left you on your own and in the dark, presumably knowing that you weren't comfortable to continue running in those circumstances, makes it even worse. Even though I very much doubt you'd have been in any danger (I personally am happy to run solo and /in the dark) that lack of care riles me. Happy running, anyway!
