Out today, no plan. Seemed odd to be freelancing after all those weeks on training.
I thought I’d make a start on my Five Village Quest. I plotted a HM distance which passes through four local villages here, so that’s five including the one I start from. But for now I’ll have to work slowly back to 10 miles, starting with 12k today.
The plan is to follow the route to half the distance and turn back - an out and back - until I eventually reach the “point of no return” where it’s equidistant going forwards as it is heading back. That point will be half half marathon or HHM.
I had a full weekend of intensive DIY round at the daughter’s house and it really took its toll on my energy level today. I was keen for it but physically I thought I was dragging a tractor tyre behind me! It’s funny how you can run down a gradual incline and not notice it until you turn back and it’s “who put this hill here?!!”
HR was a little up from normal - low energy, probably - and my earphones ran out of juice about 4k in. Only the second time I’ve ran silent since C25k. No PBs as I was doing easy pace.
But I think I enjoyed it despite the issues. More DIY scheduled this week and a covid booster jab booked for Thursday afternoon. Might get another run in Thursday morning then.
Happy running, folks! 🙂
