Though I will probably add a couple of bits here, and there.
I went into the weekend feeling a bit angry/cheesed off as I hadn’t been given an appointment date to see the consultant, and I’d really been anticipating being given the okay to finally - it’s been 7 weeks since I was plated and pinned - partially weight bear.
I then had a migraine type thing on Sunday which really knocked me out, so by yesterday everything just felt like a huge struggle. Even getting washed and dressed reduced me to tears, mostly because I now haven’t been able to shower since 17th July. 😞
Anyway, I made myself walk down the road and back. And I do mean down - the OS map has it as 10m of elevation from the top of my front path to the road at the bottom, and Garmin made it a round trip of about 100m 🤣 And I had to stop 3 times on the way back up to stretch out my bad leg.
Today, my consultant rang. FOUR of his patients hadn’t turned up for their appointments so he’d rung to ask where I was, and then proceeded to give me a phone consult. He talked me through adjusting my brace to allow a greater degree of movement AND 🥳 told me I am fine to partially weight bear 🥳 Also I can take the brace off to do my bed bound knee bends then bend my knee as far as I find comfortable i.e farther than the brace would let me.
I think pure excitement then led me to choose the most recent of Ella’s Wheelchair Workout vids and power through it, once I got downstairs 👍
