I keep looking at these .
They were the same price in last year's 'Black friday' deal
But !
They are still expensive and from what I hear (no pun intended) the audio is poor especially if listening to music ?
I dunno - IMO the expectations of reviewers for bone conduction headphones are quite unrealistic.
Having read negative comments in reviews it was a leap of faith for me buying my Aeropex. I also have Sony WF-1000XM3 (would have got the XM4s but at the time they were sold out everywhere), and Earfun Air Pro 2.0; the Sony's are the most HiFi, the EarFun have great EQ for running listening, but the AfterShokz will never fall out of my ears, and I find the audio quite acceptable - though there is never going to be thumping bass! The other morning I accidentally stood on them and I thought "RIP AfterShokz" - but no, they still work just fine!
Audio quality very subjective of course - I've also found I've had no problem returning items to Amazon when I found the quality to be substandard - even a £700 iPhone.
For me that's the problem, I just don't know what to expect , so as you say , a leap of faith !If I only listened to podcasts then I might be more tempted but generally I listen to music .
But , I also have never had a problem returning items to Amazon if I wasen't happy !
At the moment I'll continue with my £20 pair with over ear hooks that I bought while in China 3 years ago 😁
Maybe when these fail me I might take the leap 😁
You can spend an astonishing amount of money on audio gear!
Sometimes I feel it’d be cheaper to hire a tribute band and have them drive ahead of you on a flat bed trailer.
😆
I love the picture you paint Ian5K ! However you'd struggle to get a quad bike through some of the paths I run, let alone a flat-bed trailer. So I sing to myself. Even cheaper!
There's an amazing number of ludicrously expensive snake oil products for audiophiles.
About twenty years ago I visited a HiFi buff friend looking at a problem on a computer. While there, he demonstrated his audio system to me by playing a CD.
The speakers, I was told, were rigidly held in place by concrete blocks that went down to the foundations of the house.
He went on about directional connecting cables, oxygen-free silver wiring, dampened mounting feet, etc.
Listening to the CD playback I commented that the recording was probably from before about 1975.
"How do you reckon that?"
"From the tape hiss¹."
"What tape hiss?"

¹ There are very few digital recordings before that time.
That is an excellent deal. Got mine from runningxpert in Denmark @ £112, but this beats even that.
They do have the Garmin 45 @ £112, which I think is the best price I've seen for that this BF week. (Yesterday & today only I think).

Good price for the Garmin 45!It's a great watch that does everything I need it to 👍
Indeed - though I have to correct myself, as I see that today Amazon have the 45 @ £109

That’s exactly what I paid for mine - but it wasn’t black friday!
It might have been red wednesday, or purple thursday. 😆
🤣😂🤣🤣
Thanks nowster, I've taken the plunge and ordered these after viewing reviews on YouTube and elsewhere.
One thing to note is that sometimes they don't charge properly if they think there's some sweat on the port, and the light on the side never turns blue. If that happens, disconnect the magnetic charging connector and reconnect it.
I found this out to my cost when they cut out half way through a walk in early January this year (whilst recovering from having injured my knee a week or so before).
Thanks nowster, I'll keep that in mind. I'm looking forward to trying them on as standard earbuds fall out of my ears (Pixel Buds I'm looking at you). I saw quite a few runners wearing them at Parkrun this morning and they looked very secure.
My skull must be denser than average: the signal from one of those earbud type headphones often doesn't reach the other, and the stereo effect annoyingly drops down to single-ear-mono, then reconnects.
Either that or I have a big head. But everyone says that about me anyway. 😆
I love my music and I love my aftershokz. I tried in-ear headphones and they kept falling out. I tried over-ear headphones and they were too hot in the summer. Bone-conductors are just right (best Goldilocks there 😉). I put them on, go out and forget about them. They never move or feel uncomfortable, and I can hear T Rex as well as the bus coming up behind me. Perfect 👌
