Recovery 3K

Hiya,

After my 14K (2h) on Saturday, I did a slow recovery 3K today. Long since I did such a short run, felt a bit useless to dress up for such a distance. But I did it nevertheless.

Am thinking to do a 5K on Wednesday and then take rest until Saturday / Sunday when I will try for my first 10 miles.

Cheers, Evy

Nice short run for you today Evy, like you I will run a 5K on Wednesday but only another 5K, not 10 miles on Saturday.

Enjoy your 5K!

The 5K on Wednesday will be my 76th (not) parkrun, the Saturday 5K will be my 31st official parkrun, you are allowed to run both in the same week.

A shorter recovery run is good, and sounds like you have a great plan

Well done Evy, I enjoy recovery runs! There’s no pressure and we can just pootle along 😁😁😁.

It was hard not to go faster, my second km was fast but I was able to slow down in my third again.

What a great way to start a post. "After my 14k......". Just brilliant 😀

Good luck with your 10 miles Evy 👍

Here hoping next week your post will read "After my 10 miles ..." 🤞🙂

If my 10 miles happens (big if), I will take a week off from running. Give myself a short rest 😉

Nice wee 3 km run for you. I dress up leggings etc even on my walks too hot in jeans. Good luck on your 10 miles

in reply to Doris8

Thanks, I did dress up. Just find 3K so little now 😂. If you told me that a year ago...

That sounds like a good plan for a strong and confident runner - congratulations on all that you have achieved so far. I think we will soon be reading of your completed 10 miles and I wish you another great run. No advice needed as you seem to have a realistic, sensible, winning approach - best wishes ☺️.

I think 3K runs have got a bad press. Once I get to doing a longer run at the weekend I will force myself to go less than 4K. Good thinking Evy.

in reply to Rennur

I indeed never do 3K. A short week run is for me 5K. But after a long (long) run it can be good to keep it short for a run.
