No rush Russian run

Normally I run on a Monday but yesterday I was in Gdynia and the hotel's suggested running route was all on roads so I decided against it.

Finally reached Russia yesterday evening. This morning it was bright and sunny, a perfect autumn day, so I knew what I would do. To my huge surprise husband and sons decided to join me. The boys wanted to walk the dog who'd kept us awake trotting round the room we're sleeping in. She doesn't get enough exercise so they reckon if they walk her enough she'll sleep through the night.

Walked to some nearby parkland with a small sports stadium. There were lots of paths through a small pine woodland, glorious with the leaves and sunshine. Did a few circuits of the running track too, a new experience. Husband hasn't run for ages so I took it easy so as not to exhaust him 😂

All in all a great morning's run. The boys stayed out a bit longer, they got a bit lost but maybe the dog guided them home 😁

How lovely Obk, a Russian family run complete with gorgeous dog! Hope the plan works and you all get a good night's sleep tonight

Wow, from Berlin to Russia within a couple of days! Phew. I guess you are all on an amazing road trip. How wonderful that you are all there, and running too! Where ever will your next run be from?!

It's the westernmost part of Russia so it's nearer than you'd think, around 925 miles, but it's quite a drive especially as the only driver. I've been making this journey since 1992 so I'm sort of used to it now. It's the first time we've had a family trip with all the boys over 18 so there's a very different dynamic, much more relaxed and huge fun :)

How lovely to read about runs in different places and you have the dog a good outing too

It's such a change from my usual run! Dog is still looking rather lively. I don't know what's worse during the night, her toenails clicking on the lino or when she decides to scratch herself. Luckily I'm sleeping next to a wall so if she decides to sniff or lick someone it'll be my husband 😂

We barricaded our sleeping area last night, (it's all open plan). Much better and doggie didn't seem to mind 😁
