Just a gentle 3.5K trot

It's been too long since my last run so my intention today was just to run !

Woke up around 6am, went to make a cup of tea and feed the ever hungry cat !

She was in the kitchen waiting , sat by her empty food bowl ๐Ÿ˜

I decided to take my tea back to bed !

Up again around 6:45 , a bit of faffage, Dynamics done ,

Out of the door around 07:25.

It was quite cool on my warm up walk but I knew it would be just right in a t shirt and shorts once I started running

I was not bothered how far , not bothered how fast , I just wanted a relaxed and enjoyable run .

No music , and no watching my watch .

This was a mindfulness run , enjoying the moment .

I set off really slow as I didn't know how far I was going to run .

I followed my usual route and coming up to 1k I knew it was a nice and easy pace so I don't even bother to look at my watch.

At this stage I hadn't seen another person out there , just a horse near the beginning of my route .

On to the 2nd k and slightly downhill at first so let the pace creep up a little , again, just by feel .

A few cars around on this stretch and a couple of dog walkers but no other runners !.

Round the corner and onto the uphill towards the village church , tried to keep a Steady pace on the incline , this was tough as I hadn't run for a while but felt a similar pace , again, no looking at the watch !

I had a little bit of an achey knee at this point , nothing much , just something I was aware of .

Caried on to 3k and decided to finish at 3.5k because of the knee !

I didn't want to push it .

Back home , stretches done , tea made and porridge for breakfast !

Now for a shower ๐Ÿ˜

Sounds just lovely ๐Ÿ™‚ a perfect start to a day! I talk to the horses I see on my runs and they do come over to the hedge to see me ๐Ÿ™‚

Sometimes you just need an easy run with no pressure.

And as to your cat...

Lovely, no-stress, no-big-goal, enjoyable. Sensibly monitoring the bodyโ€™s responses. Running at its best.

Absolutely ! An enjoyable run ๐Ÿ™‚

Well done and also well done for stopping for the knee!

Thanks , it was harder to stop then it would have been to keep going , but was probably the sensible choice .Luckily it's ok now ๐Ÿ˜

Being sensible is very sensible! Wouldn't want to end up on the IC!

Thanks , it was a nice relaxing run with no pressure ๐Ÿ˜

That sounds just perfect. Comfortable pace and running with your body and mind and not the watch.

Great idea to protect your knee too.

What a great run.

Thanks Alan , and the knee is ok now , maybe if I'd pushed it then it might not have been ,

That sounds like a really nice run, I like how you used it for mindfulness. It can be too easy getting obsessed by the watch stats! Iโ€™ve been intrigued by mine showing how high my heart rate gets going into cold sea on holiday ๐Ÿ˜. Hope the kneeโ€™s ok, and I love the horsey pic. All the best! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks Kate !It's amazing how the mind can totally transform a run !

I just wanted to keep this one relaxed .

I like the stats also but didn't want them this time ๐Ÿ˜

Hope you had a great holiday ! ๐Ÿ˜

Ah thank you! Still on my hols and have been pretty consistent running every other day, although currently taking a 2 day break. Iโ€™ve not broken any records thatโ€™s for sure! Just trying to maintain some level of fitness. I see some mad people running in the sand on the beach in the middle of the day. Not for me no siree ๐Ÿคฃ. Sandโ€™s for lying on. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oooh , then continue to enjoy your holidays ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘I'm impressed that you are still running every other day ๐Ÿ‘

Hmm ... Running on sand !

I'm slow enough without that !

I would be almost stationary on sand ๐Ÿคฃ
