Pace and enjoyment.

Today I have had an absolutely fantastic run.

Up at 05:45 for my planned 6.44km negative split run. My objective today being to take it steady so I wouldn't be hating every minute half way through blowing out my backside.

I succeeded and it felt wonderful throughout. I started and settled into my steady pace circa 6:50 and off I went through the estate and onto the uphill Park path. Unfortunately I was unable to cross into the Lanes without stopping due to traffic so for the first time ever continued uphill to the next village.

At the 3km mark I was astonished. It was uphill all the way and I was still breathing steady. Onto 4km and my watch indicated it was time to up the tempo and joy of joy I was now going downhill. Result.

As I continued I thought it would be light enough to do a circuit through the woods and around the pools. This was an error on my part as it was still dark inside the woods and one of three biting four legged creatures thought it would be highly amusing to all if he could run at and knock over an oncoming runner. I papped my panties, stumbled and continued. No doubt the doggy had a good laugh though.

Back onto the downward section and I was feeling strong so when my watch indicated it was time to up the tempo again, off I went.

A really enjoyable run which I attribute to starting off nice and steady.

Happy running all.
