As I understand, all that jiggling about around the pelvis shakes things up and moves things along. Plus if you're drinking enough ie lots of water everything is softer. If you have a coffee or 3 before you set off it'll speed up your metabolism. All of this can add up to unpleasant consequences. Sorry if this is too graphic.

Not too graphic, pretty good example of what happened during park run, fortunately there were facilities near by….,😑

The other thing is that doing physical exercise will divert the bloodflow away from the gastrointestinal tract, which can make things down there uncomfortable if it was in the middle of processing a meal.

Thanks, any way round it that you know of?

I usually run on an empty stomach first thing in the morning or wait at least two hours after a normal meal. A couple of slices of toast and a coffee don't count.

That’s what I had on Saturday for breakfast. I don’t understand it 🤷‍♀️

I also run on empty at 6am but still have this problem just manage to do the 30min then 5min cool down before dashing into the gym for the loo🙄

Make sure you ‘drop the kiddies off at the pool’ before you set off ;) If the guts aren’t full up there’s less likelihood of stuff wanting to come out.

I did that, same thought, usually have to go then go again before I set off. 🤷‍♀️

So do I Lablove - if I dash out of the door straight after getting up I invariably get caught short - have to have a cup of tea to get things moving ….😬😬

How long is there between the last thing you eat and your run? I for example have to wait 2 hours before running after I eat something. That may be a full meal or just some yoghurt.

That may be something to do with it, I usually try and wait for two hours, not always. I’m wary of running on empty in case I run out of energy. I generally don’t eat anything after my evening meal about 7pm.
