As I understand, all that jiggling about around the pelvis shakes things up and moves things along. Plus if you're drinking enough ie lots of water everything is softer. If you have a coffee or 3 before you set off it'll speed up your metabolism. All of this can add up to unpleasant consequences. Sorry if this is too graphic.
The other thing is that doing physical exercise will divert the bloodflow away from the gastrointestinal tract, which can make things down there uncomfortable if it was in the middle of processing a meal.
I usually run on an empty stomach first thing in the morning or wait at least two hours after a normal meal. A couple of slices of toast and a coffee don't count.
So do I Lablove - if I dash out of the door straight after getting up I invariably get caught short - have to have a cup of tea to get things moving ….😬😬
How long is there between the last thing you eat and your run? I for example have to wait 2 hours before running after I eat something. That may be a full meal or just some yoghurt.
That may be something to do with it, I usually try and wait for two hours, not always. I’m wary of running on empty in case I run out of energy. I generally don’t eat anything after my evening meal about 7pm.
