A bit lost

Had 3 week break because of hamstring ache - prior to that had run consistently for 30-35 mins every other day for ten weeks. Back to running but have only managed 2 x 20 mins / 1x24 and yday, when went out with high hopes of doing 30 mins - no work, read article on positivity of running - ended up doing 34 mins but had to stop 3 or 4 times and walk for couple of minutes. I’m completely confused by what’s going on. I am wondering if I have to go back to some point in the C25Knine week programme and start again? Has anyone else had this experience - it’s thrown me a bit 🤔🤔

Personally I would build your run frequency up a bit more gradually .You don't say the time period that you ran the 2x20 mins and the 1x24 then the 34 min ?

Just don't be too hard on yourself, especially after injury you do not want to rush the return, take your time, and if you need walking breaks that's fine !

Recovery can take time 👍

I went back to ‘the plan’ and did every other day. Thank you for your thoughts - I’ll see how I go . Thank you

I was going to say what Instructor57 said, being out for three weeks because of injury will probably need a more gradual build up. Maybe try a couple of shorter runs and then a longer one each week, extending the long run by a few minutes each week until you build up to where you were before 👍

Thank you - that sounds like a plan

Contemplate having someone look at the issue; sports massage or even a sports physio. You'll get relief and advice on what needs strengthening or exercises to prevent further issues. 👍🏻
