I really don't get this running lark 😀 and my thanks goes out to Instructor57 for his wisdom in my last post as it worked! (not that I doubted you for a second sir 🤣).
On Sunday just gone I ran my furthest so far and strangely felt OK when I stopped.
I decided to run a little further, but was feeling so tired before the run I could've easily not have bothered. My motivation was to put on my new running shoes and "try them out". There were also dark clouds in the distance, but thought I'd run whatever. I consciously tried to run slower on Instructor57's advice after my recent surge training. Got to a point I'd ran to before and just carried on and then the heavens opened. Wearing just a running t shirt & shorts I was soaked through to the skin but didn't care! Feeling good, I breezed a steep hill I normally struggle with and just kept on going. Eventually I stopped mainly due to my legs feeling a little heavy and knew I'd ran my furthest. I guessed around 7.5K-8K but then looked at Strava and to my shock I'd run 9K!!! Where did that come from ?? 😀
So my conclusion is inconclusive as it's baffling me. This running game is so much more mental than I gave it credit for and slowing down obviously helped to.
I'm not posting that for congrats or plaudits, I'm just staggered at running that distance!!

Running slower is definitely the way to run further, easier.. feels amazing when you can just run easy 👍🙂Love when you're enjoying your run so much the rain is even enjoyable 🙂
Well done on getting to the point where you realise this.. you'll be hitting your 10K in no time🎖️
Slowing down to push further is always a great strategy - really well done on your long run!💪😀 ….and always share your achievement here; we know how it feels and it’s ok to be proud!👏☺️
Thanks Instructor57. I'm serious and respect your help previously. The fact you too were honest enough to let me know you suffer mentally too in a previous post spurred me on!!
