I'm on my 2nd week of The Bridge. Last week was a struggle as I felt heavy.
I'm using the music from c25k with Laura (a gr8 selection of tracks). This week I'm planning a 4k,2k,6km schedule.
31deg today and I tackled the 4km.
I was sabotaged in the first 100m by the barriers of the railway crossing closing. This track is rural and has no power rail, so I looked left then right then crossed, the train pulled in about 1 minute later.
The opening section is semi urban ugliness, I'm convinced that it is a erstwhile landfill site. But after 400m there is a surprise in store as the land falls away to reveal a valley worthy of Hardy's Wessex. A gentle downhill trot took me to the next level crossing (no trains this time, in fact there are only about 20 per day).
The back straight is a wide track through some oak and beech woods. The return is a gentle climb bordering some fields. The last 100m is a steep climb back into suburbia.
It was tough around the 3/4 point but I got there. In fact this has been my best run on the Bridge.
Next up a 2km one , weather is "beau fixe" so I can expect 30+ deg again. I might hitch myself up to the dog .
