I have just run 8k! It took me 54 minutes and I wasn't sure that I could do it but I wanted to try. It actually felt easier in the second half of the run. I do the NRC guided runs and I really feel that the talk, wisdom and encouragement is what helps me.
No records broken this morning other than it being my longest run.

That’s a good run for you, 8k is brilliant distance and way faster than lots of others, you must have a big smile 😃
