Toe problem update.... gait analysis done ✅

Following on from my question about going for gait analysis - I have been to my local sports shop and had a gait analysis. Verdict = completely neutral gait. Tried some trainers to solve the bruised toe problems and discovered asics most comfortable. However in one pair I had to go up a whole size for there to be enough toe room so although very comfy, they felt huge and I was worried I'd trip over! Purchased pair in photo because my feet just felt happiest in them. They didn't give me too much ££ shock either. The lady was really knowledgeable and helpful. I am trying them out on a run tomorrow 😊 Thank you for all your advice. Lots to carry on with 👍

They had Brooks there and I wanted to try them on but didn't this time! The lady said the other shoes were a step up again and good for marathon distances so I thought to myself....well if I go to that distance I'll treat myself again with them!!

What makes a shoe "good for marathon distances"?

Hi, good luck with the new shoes - they look fab! ✨👟✨🙂

Have you heard of lock-lacing? Really helpful if your shoes are loose around ankle and also stop your toes slipping forwards in your shoe. Video below if anyone’s interested.🙂

Thank you. Yes have heard and tried it on my old trainers. Thanks for the video, I'll look at it so I do these places right!

Exact same here, super sore toe which was affecting my calf and shin recently! Anyway, I had to go 1.5 sizes up, and yes, they feel huge, but my toe is SO happy 😃. Great shoes!!! 👟👟👟

I just wasn't brave enough was I! The bigger ones did feel springy but my foot just relaxed in these and were tense in the bigger ones so I went with that! Such a hard decision though!!

I know what you mean - it is really strange looking down and seeing these big clod hoppers sticking out! But it sounds as though yours are super comfy and I hope your toe is much happier! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Fantastic that you got the attention you needed when purchasing your new runners. The correct size really makes such a difference and the way your foot interacts with a shoe when running is so different from when walking. Have a great 1st run in them. Happy running 🤗

A very good buy, I’m also neutral and have a selection of different makes, asics were my first real pair of running shoes bought because my sister wore them for several marathons

Fab! The woman (Sian) remembered me from last September!

I like ASICS, my old ones were support GT2000. I tried on several pairs, but found that this time I preferred the feel of the Saucony Omni pair. I wear 6.5 to 7 in normal shoes…I’m in size 8 for runners!

I'm size 7 normally but 7.5 in these and 8 in the others I tried which I think are Nimbus?? I tried not too look too hard at what else was in shop.....too tempting!

😂

I have a pair of Asics and a pair of Nikes. My Asics are the oldest ones and despite their age, they still feel good. So I think you'll be very happy with your new shoes.

Thank you, I hope so!

I've always liked Asics but their sizes are small so a whole size up is probably about right. Bit short on the length of shoelace too but so comfortable. Enjoy!

Yes I tied the Saucony laces and just thought Wow! Long and easy to move about!! The asics are shorter

I am a size up in running shoes as well. In fact I think that's standard. Happy running in those gorgeous new shoes - I'm sure you'll feel the benefit.

Thank you. I decided to apply this rule to walking boots too. Never even considered that! It's much more comfy!!
