I went with my daughter yesterday to have gait analysis to buy her new running shoes as a birthday present.

Went to Runners world in Chelmsford the nearest place to us someone’s missing a trick no running shops near us even though we have loads of running clubs and park runs in the area.

Well she had hers done so I asked if I could have a mini analysis myself as I don’t need new shoes yet.

She got on the running machine and was filmed picked out her shoes lovely.

I said never been on a machine before so he said I’ll just get you to walk then

Oh the embarrassment I just couldn’t do it so ended up having to be filmed running across the shop I only wanted to know if the shoes I have been wearing are still suitable for me as I last had analysis 12 years ago my daughter as well.

He said my shoes are good for me We enjoyed our trip .

And my daughter can’t wait to try out her new shoes she had a new baby 5 months ago so is preparing to start C25K soon she has a running buggy in preparation as well.

What a wonderful outing for you both. I wish your daughter well in her return to running, this time with a buggy. Happy running all🤗

Wonderful Mumpark! Your daughter will turn into one of those superhuman runners I see at parkrun, zooming along with buggies, sometimes doubles. 😳 What fun! I thought for micro moment about running with my grandson, but I soon dismissed that ridiculous notion! 😨

Treadmills are shocking things aren’t they? I’ve used one a few times but also remember the embarrassment during my gait analysis when he asked me the speed I normally ran and I told him, not realising he was talking mph, not kph! 🥵🥵 I almost expired when he set it!

Happy running you two (three!) 😀

I did tell him I hadn’t been on one before our previous gait analysis was 12 years ago and I was only in preparation for starting to run then.I still call all other runners proper runners

What a lovely trip out. I went with my mum a couple of years back and it was hilarious as she’s 88 and the look on the assistant’s face was priceless when my mum came in with her stroller and asked for running shoes😂

I bet, our assistant wasn’t what you would call young but I still felt ancient not even being able to walk on it

I did some of C25K with my youngest in a running stroller. He used to shout “too slow” at the top of his voice 🤣
