Gait analysis excitement!!

So, at 11:30 today I have my gait analysis booked in... Not looking forward to running on a treadmill in a hot room but very much looking forward to the outcome and I'm so hoping I love the running trainers that the chap recommends! I know it's not about what they look like as much as how they help me perform and prevent injuries but it's a bonus to get a pair you love the look of too!! The guy that owns the place is a serious runner himself and is competing for England!! No pressure to present with good running technique on the treadmill!! 🤣😂 Anyway, I'll post up later the outcome of the gait analysis and my feedback about how it went. 👍😁 Happy running all! 🏃‍♀️☺️

Good to hear your having your gait analysis 👍And sounds like the shop owner has valuable experience , do quiz him though as to the choices he may offer .

So... Gait analysis done and it was so worth it!! The guy was really thorough with explaining things and asking questions, we spent an hour just talking through things before I even got on the treadmill. I first ran with my trainers I've been running in and OMG!! Now I can see where my injuries may have come from! The camera play back was really good, turns out I have good running technique but slight drop in my left hip which was later corrected with the right shoes and a talk. I was very intrigued by what the chap would pick up from the footage and surprisingly very happy with how my bottom looked when running!! 😂🤣 After trying multiple pairs of running shoes in different makes on the treadmill and running around the shop like a loon I finally came out with my new cloudflyers! I'm on cloud 9 with them!! 😂. The guy I went to is an independent shop owner and a serious runner and I cannot advise enough that if anyone is going to have one done to find a similar person because he so knew his stuff! I felt like I got a free physio session whilst I was there. 👍 I went for a bright colour because I really wanted bright colours, and I've posted a pic so you can see. 😁

I should get a new pair of running shoes soon too. The plan is to get a gait analysis too (for the first time), but I do am a little afraid. I am now running in a pair of elder running shoes (I got them 6 years ago, ran a few months in them and then they stood collecting dust for 5 years until I started running again last November). No gait analysis back then, just a pair I liked the look of. Fact is I am wearing sport soles in them that prevent me getting knee pains (something to do with me slightly overpronating). But with the soles they feel very good, no complaints at all. And I just fear that if I get another pair which a shop suggests, they won't be good after all and I will get complaints in my body. I'm just a chicken...

If it was a good place you went to then they won't fit you with the wrong shoes I wouldn't have thought. I'd advise to make sure their independent and also into running. I wouldn't go to a big branch for one. ☺️

Undortunately there is not much choice around here. Only 1 shop that I know off that offers gait analysis. So will have to go to that one, no idea of their knowledge
