Totally agree Lizcanrun! My plan has pretty much gone out the window - distances will have to go a bit on hold for now. Weβll get there! πββοΈππββοΈππββοΈπ π π
Same !!. I just concentrated on keeping in zones 2 and 3 for 30 minutes. Went at 6.30 and was very slow, only 3.7k in that time....but pleased with average heart rate of 130 in that heat. I'll stick to that kind of run until its cooler, its better than nothing!
I ran a 31 minute NRC recovery run this morning at 7am and it was baking with no wind. π₯΅ Iβve barely ever run so slowly, but it was necessary and I actually enjoyed it. We arenβt designed for this are we? Hey, weβll soon be grumbling about the wind and rain again donβt worry! π₯Ά π¦ π¨π
Yes, we'll I spent most of June complaining about the weather, so I'm not going to complain about the sunshine - it's just not good for running/sleeping/working...
Well done for producing a very decent run in the heat. Of all the seasons and weather conditions, I find the heat the biggest obstacle. It really makes a big difference and makes every step a challenge for me, I was thinking my better runs were in the cold weather, but the cold can also be another barrier for some. However, I don't want to wish sunshine and warmth away. Carry on and stay cool, if we keep the heat long enough we'll eventually become more acclimatised - bring it on! Best wishes βΊοΈ
I've just got back from my regular Wednesday 5k (my day off) and it was more of a walk. I just can't do it in the heat. I'm hoping it's a bit cooler for the return of Parkrun (yay!) on Saturday.
Same here Liz, although I slept so badly I didnβt run anywhere! So really well done for doing 3k π. I am rubbish in this weather, and actually quite grumpy with it, I pity my poor other half. Your July quest sounds very sensible - hopefully it will cool down at the weekend. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
