So I purchased a pair of dedicated running socks (Stance) when I got my last trainers - the staff member sold me on how they were designed for each foot, they allowed my feet to breath etc. etc. They were £13 which i did think was a lot.
My question is now - do I buy a few more pairs of these or stick with the cheaper adidas ones (about £10 for 3 pairs) I also use. I cant say I really notice a difference when running but they do feel good when I put them on.
Has anyone seen any real benefit of dedicated running socks?

Hubby treated me to 2 pairs running socks , they are wonderful. Previous I’d been running in the cheap version like you 2packs of 3 pairs for the last few years. They were wonderful. Any difference - only difference is I can no longer source the same cheap ones and as hubby was in the running shop anyway picking up our new runners he bought the socks that were there. Happy running 🤗
I purchased Hillys socks after suffering blisters out of the blue after running in the heat. They have double layer so stop any rubbing, I must say they have worked a treat no repeat blisters and very comfy .
I have cheap running socks from Decathlon, which work fine for me. I once ran in regular socks (10K) and then I did feel a bit of irritation at one toe. So I do prefer running socks, but they don't have to be expensive.
I bought some More Miles socks, which at £15 for 5 are considerably cheaper than some running socks. They are running socks and had good reviews (in blogs/running sites) so I took a chance on them. I've been very happy with them, my caveat is that I only run short distances but I think they would be fine for me regardless.
I started off with some cheap running socks, ok but started to get a bit out of shape, so invested in a pair of Hilly marathon anklet socks (£12). Not sure if they improve my running but they are very comfortable and wear really well. In fact a year later I just bought a second pair and the old pair look no different when placed side by side. Never had an issues with blisters or rubbing whilst using these socks, so I would recommend them.
I buy Slazenger trainer socks..have done for a few years now and I have no trouble with them at all. They’ll do for me. I’ve often wondered about dedicated running socks and have yet to try them. Maybe I’ll treat myself one day but for the moment my el cheapos will do😂😂
I did all of C25k and consolidation runs in ordinary thin cotton ankle socks, that I had already, with no problems at all. However this year I looked at the sales and got two pairs of Inov8 running socks for £15, they have Left foot and Right foot which is cute. They are such a good fit and comfortable, offer a bit of compression mid foot. I wouldn't go back to cheap socks now, but I think the two pairs will last me a while.
